Reports are now edited in place, as they look: drag blocks around, insert anything with /, save by hand and go back to any earlier version.
Editing happens on the report page itself. The bar holds undo and redo, Insert, sharing, history and Save.
Okay let’s work on the editor and the editor page, make sure it’s smooth, intuitive and all interactions are proper
The first result was a Markdown text box next to a live preview. That was turned down:
but we dont want this, we want a proper editor, not md and seperate views
A later round asked for the editing page, saving and undo to be reworked:
great, now why is it a different page, the edit buttons and adding things and everything just dont look good, we want to smooth out the UX more and making it better, better positining of things and things like that, lets improve the UX, make sure u also focus, lets polish it up more, edits shouldnt be auto saved also, manual save with version history as well and proper warnings, i need to click save to save, make sure we have proper undo redo, and everything.
Clicking Edit on a report keeps you on the same page: the column, header and title stay where they were, and the report becomes editable. There is no Markdown pane and no separate preview.
/ on a line, use the + beside a block, or the Insert button: text, headings, lists, quotes, code, the exact prompt, tables, callouts, collapsed details, images, before/after pairs, galleries and image placeholders.
Nothing saves until you click Save or press Ctrl+S. The bar says whether there are unsaved changes, and undoing back to the saved text counts as no changes. Leaving with unsaved changes asks first: Done, any link in the app, and closing the tab. Discard asks too, and can itself be undone. Undo and redo cover everything, including uploads, moves and layout changes.
Every save is a version. The history panel lists them all, yours and your agent's, with a preview of each; restoring one brings it back as unsaved changes, so nothing is overwritten until you save. If an agent saves while you are editing, the editor says so and lets you load its version or keep yours.
Every interaction was exercised with real mouse and keyboard input on a scratch report: typing, formatting, the / menu, Insert, dragging blocks and images, the block menu, tables, captions, uploads, verdict, history, the unsaved-changes prompts, and two editors saving over each other. That round turned up nine problems, from a menu that crashed the page to a caret that jumped while typing in a caption; all nine were fixed and checked again.
